Then use stain to develop desired final finish. Please follow stain manufacturer?s instructions for application. For canned products, stir product with putty knife or spatula before application. If the wood filler has become too stiff or dry, thin with acetone. Press wood filler firmly into place with a putty knife, spatula or tool. Avoid excess contact with the surrounding area. Build fill up slightly higher than surface to allow for settling and sanding. Allow to dry thoroughly before sanding or finishing. Dries in as little as 15 minutes for shallow, low volume fills and 2-24 hours in larger volume fills 1/4-inch deep and over. Sand with medium sandpaper(100 grit). For larger and deeper repairs, apply two or more thin layers, allowing wood filler to dry between applications. Overfill to allow for settling and sanding.
